"Me and Marchy are hittin Klumppys right now! It's not massive, but it's big enuff" said the text from Damo Kelly at 6:47AM on Saturday the 15th May 2010. Needless to to say I scrambled for the camera gear and headed for the door. Huge waves where smashing the rocks below and I arrived just as the boys where paddling into the rip. I was just in time to see Damo caught by a set that sent him sliding into the bay at Bartletts and leaving him a long paddle back though seemingly endless white water. Bob March and his son Duan were luckier and managed to reach the zone with relative ease. There are 97 incredible images and we feature only 20 on the website at this stage. Check this page regularly as more photos are uploaded for your viewing pleasure. Unfortunately for Damo I initially decided to use the video camera, so no photos of his waves. However he will feature in 'Winter sessions 2010' So watch out for that at the end of the year!
Duan and Bob watch as the set marches towards Damo. Sold!

Sold! Waves broke way out to sea.

Bob paddled for a monster that almost took him all the way to Rainbow beach!

Sold! He watched that lip closely

A mean and angry face

Sold! The early morning light provided a spectacular silhouette

He emerged from the light only to dissapear behind a tree

Meanwhile Duan was eyeing off a playfull ten(?) footer

Yep, he likes it!

Up close you can see the water movement

He makes it look easy, even on his backhand

It walls up nicely

So, he cuts back

Then does an 'S' turn

Races the wall

Sold! It walls up again

So he attacks the wall

Then slides into the silouette...

Drifts behind that damn tree (grrrrrr!)

But emerges still going into Bartletts
